great grapes

I would like to formally thank my mother for introducing me to one of the wonders of the summer world: the frozen grape. They never freeze completely solid, but are more of a granita-style consistency inside their taut little skin.

Must go eat more.

I am secretly hoping that our grapes will be edible this year- I cut them waaaaaay back, and on the vines fruiting, there are a gazillion grapes. Maybe good enough for wine, maybe... But they are still green- perhaps the cool summer is their enemy

I've been eating frozen grapes for years: my father used to eat them in the summer whenever it got hot. And since we lived in Southern California, that was fairly often. I've found that the sweeter the grape, the better its consistency is when frozen. And let's not discuss the one time I bought seedless grapes and *after* freezing them found out (the hard way) that they had been mislabeled
